Vine weevil adults eat plant foliage, this can be seen as notches taken out of leaves. It is cosmetic damage, the real problem is the larvae that eats the roots of plants causes severe wilting and death. Most at risk are container grown plants and strawberries.
Vine weevil larvae are plump white grubs with a brown head and this biological control targets them specifically. It is called heterorhabditis bacteriophora and is a naturally occurring nematode. It requires a soil temperature of 12°C and also needs to be tied in with the weevil life cycle so use it in the late spring (April and May), or in the late summer (August and September)
The pack should be mixed with water and applied using a watering can.
