The Giant Yellow Sunflower is the traditional, tall, single, large-flowered favourite. The name refers to the large single flower with edible black seeds rather than the height, although, the plants can grow up to 2m.
Sunflowers are great for attracting bees, butterflies and other insects to your plot or garden. They also make for a great long-lasting cut flower.
How to grow:
Sow from april to May outside or earlier in pots in a greenhouse. Keep well watered. Plant out when first true leaves have fully formed. Allow 30cm between plants.

July – September.
