Description: Aphid Control

Aphids (Greenfly and Blackfly)

Found on a wide range of plants, these insects suck the plant sap which weakens the plant and causes the foliage to discolour and deform. Aphids produce a sticky deposit (honeydew) which turns black on plants.

Control with Ladybird Larvae, includes Release Bag that treats up to 20m2

The Larvae are voracious feeders of aphids for use outdoors or under glass on taller plants.

Control Aphids on higher growing plants with Ladybird larvae, Voracious predators that also feed on other small insects.

Ladybird larvae will be sent as eggs most of which will hatch in transit ready for use.

Any unhatched eggs can be placed on plants.

For use outdoors or under glass.

Temperature needs to be above 10°C.

Use regular introductions (2-3 weeks) between May and August.

Ladybird Larvae (Adalia) – Instructions for use

This product contains live larvae of the 2 Spot Ladybirds, use immediately on receipt.

Inside the package are larvae packed with Shredded Paper. Sprinkle the contents onto the leaves as near as possible to a colony of aphids (greenfly or blackfly). Use only a few larvae for each colony.

Please note that larvae will vary in size and some will still be in yellow eggs. Allow a few days for the larvae to emerge before applying. There may also be some ‘shed skins’ which will look like dead larvae. Do not handle the larvae as they are very delicate.

Disclaimer: Due to the carnivorous nature of these creatures, if there is insufficient food source around the larvae may eat each other.
