Ipomea is a popular climber sometimes known as Morning Glory.
Its purple and blue horn-shaped flowers look great on trellis’ or walls (with wire to guide them). You can expect them to climb to a height of around 2 to 5m.
Some decretive plants can cause illness if ingested, this includes Ipomoea seeds.
How to grow:
Sow March and April. Early sowings should be made in small pots indoors at a temperature of 18°C. Later sowings can be made directly into the growing site. Harden off indoor sown plants and transplant against supporting trellis, canes or net at a distance of 15cm apart.
Flowers:
June to October.
